Pensieve > On Peter
We've taken flack about this before, so I guess we may as well say something about it.
As many have probably noticed, there are only three of the four Marauders currently featured in the third version of the website, "Old Friends". While most people do not mind, nor care whether Peter is included, some think that it is unfair of us to call ourselves a Marauders website without including him.
Fair enough.
Currently, I haven't the time to really do any sort of major overhaul of anything, but I can make a new header image if it really bothers people that much. [Granted I don't have the psd file for that one because I didn't have a legal copy of Photoshop yet, so I couldn't save. Don't ask...] It may take me a while, but I'll probably start doodling this evening, even, to see what I can come up with.
As for the Rat Torture...
It has been closed down for months now. I've even taken it off the front page. Personally, I never really liked the section. It was all in jest, though people took it to a very bad and nasty place. [You wouldn't believe the entries we got.] Though it got shut down for lack of time, it also got taken down for lack of originality and the fact that it just got old.
I have nothing against Peter as the young person he was in the Marauders era. He was a quiet kid, probably, that wanted attention and people to accept him. That's every child. It's what he did after childhood that makes me question what sort of person he truly is. However, we don't have any concrete evidence as to why he did what he did. There must be reasons, and JKR has the tendency to have several layers to a character, layers that don't even show themselves until a book or two after they are initially introduced.
Our profile of him shows our indecision over our opinion on Peter, but people seldom look at the Pensieve or the Profiles, going straight for the AtM, Imagery, and the messageboards. *shrugs* I'm just as guilty at times, I guess, but everything deserves a look through, especially when you're trying to form an opinion.
