Tales > The Princess and the Knight

It started off as a normal day at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, except for a small ruckess inside the kitchen. As the morning sun started to creep into the windows and hungry students started to pile into the eating area, three of Hogwarts finest stood off to the side, one of them stuck in the corner due to the others.

"Hey, come on guys! It was a joke!" Sirius said.

"Yeah. Real funny there Padfoot," Remus said, as he watched his friend and fellow Marauder.

"Remus! Come on Remus, you know I was just kidding. By the way, you've got cake on your shoulder," Sirius said, before being grabbed by the collar.

"Lily! Sweet, sweet Lily! You wouldn't hurt little ol' me would you?" Sirius told Lily Evans, the honorary Maurader. Normaly, Lily was kind and sweet, but not right now.

"You've got some nerve tricking James into thinking it's my birthday like that Sirius Black!" Lily said, as Remus tapped Lily's shoulder.

"Um, Lily, everyone's starting to stare," Remus said, as Lily turned to look at him with angry, green eyes. Gulping a bit, Remus turned around, and started to walk off.

"I'm gonna go help Prongs. Sorry, you're on your own Padfoot," Remus said, and left.

"Gee. Thanks alot there," Sirius said, as Lily tightened her grip.

"You're helping," Lily said, as she let go of Sirius's collar.

"I'm sure that Prongs and Moony have everything covered Lils," Sirius said, as Lily smirked.

"Hey, there's Robyn. I wonder what she would say if she knew that she had a admirer?" Lily said, then looked at Sirius.

"Birdie? What do you .... Lils, you wouldn't?" Sirius said, as Lily pointed towards the kitchen.

"I will if you don't get moving," Lily told Sirus, who grumbled about blackmail.

Later, in the Gryffindoor common room, James was studying with Lily, while Remus read a book. "Ugh, I have dishpan hands," Sirius complained, as he sat down.

"I didn't think that you could get dishpan hands from scrubbing the floor," James said.

"Or complaining," Lily added.

"All while trying to figure out a prank that would turn Snape's hair pink," Remus said, not looking up from his book.

"Yeah. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Hmm," Sirius said, as everyone went back to what they were doing. Looking out towards Robyn on the other end of the room, Sirius wondered what book she was reading, and started to get closer to take a better look.

"What do you want Sirius?" she said, as Sirius just blinked.

"Sheesh. Just wondering what you're reading Birdie," the blue eyed boy said, then shrugged.

"It's called a book," she said, glaring at Sirius over her shoulder, before turning back to her book.

"Sheesh. I was just asking. What kind of book anyway?" Sirius asked, then snatched it out of Robyn's hands, before she could say anything.

"Hey! Give that back!" Robyn said, and tried to grab the book back from Sirius, who was reading a bit.

"And as she waited, the Princess wondered if she was ever going to see her one true love before her marrage was complete.... What the? You read this romantic junk?" Sirius asked, as Robyn reached for her book.

"Someone gave it to me to read ok?" she said, then blushed a little. Reaching out for her book, Robyn wondered why she felt so weird, then yanked the book out of Sirius's hand, before sitting down. Sirius on the other hand, fell back into a chair.

"Wow. That felt weird," he said, then shrugged.

Later on that night, in the girl's dorm, Robyn felt a bit strange, sitting up and looking around before going back to sleep. She felt herself wake up again, only this time, she appeared in what looked like to be a castle, but it was empty.

"Hello?" she called out, but didn't hear anything.

"Sirius, if this is a prank...," she started to say then shook her head, when she heard something.

"Princess.... Please, wait for me...." A voice said. Robyn didn't know what was going on, but hoped that she was just dreaming, as she walked along.

"Please my love…. Please wait for me…," Robyn heard, then saw a figure of someone down the hall. It was tall, dark, and to Robyn, looked rather handsome. She had a hard time trying not to blush, and wondered who it was, before suddenly sitting up, finding herself in her bed.

"Right before the good part," She told herself, before wondering if it was just a dream.

In the boy's dorm, Sirius slept soundly, not dreaming of anything, but the prank he was going to pull off, at least he started to.

"My love…" Sirius heard, then looked around.

"Eh? What's going on?" he asked, finding himself in a castle of sorts.

"My love. Please tell me you have some good news," Padfoot heard, then looked around, noticing what seemed to be a woman standing at the end of the hall.

"Who are you?" he asked, wondering why he couldn't get closer, no matter how much he walked towards her.

"Please, don't forget about me my love…" The woman said, and vanished.

"What do you mean?!?" Padfoot yelled out, realizing he was sitting up in his bed.

"Do you know that you talk in your sleep?" Remus asked, as he and James stood over Sirius.

"Hah. Very funny Moony," Sirius said, as he rubbed his eyes.

"Come on. We're going to be late for breakfast," James said. Sirius couldn't figure out what kind of dream he had, but felt he should look into it a bit, before shrugging and thinking back to his next prank.

Later on, in potions class, Lily looked over at Robyn, who looked rather preoccupied.

"Hey, you ok?" she asked, touching Robyn's shoulder.

"Huh? Oh, yeah," she said, then sighed, as she closed her eyes.

"Please Princess… Wait for me…" she heard, then quickly opened her eyes, looking around.

"Did you hear something?" Robyn asked Lily, but Lily just shook her head.

"I didn't hear anything," She said, and Robyn blushed.

"Please my love. Please come to me," Sirius heard, as he started to pour his potion.

"Damnit. I'm hearing things," he said softly.

"What did you say?" Remus asked, and Sirius shook his head.

"Oh, nothing," he said, then shook his head, trying to think about the potion he was making, the one that would turn Snape's hair pink.

"Please my love. Rescue me from fate," Sirius heard, before James tapped his shoulder.

"Um, Sirius? I don't think you should pour that…" he said, right before the potion he was making exploded, turning his hair pink.

"Oh brother," he said softly.

After leaving the hospital wing, Sirius almost ran into Robyn, who's face was still red.

"What's with you Birdie?" he asked, as Robyn turned her head a bit.

"I made a mistake in potions ok?" She asked, then pushed past Sirius, who looked confused.

"Wait. You too?" he asked, then started to think.

"Hmm. Whoever thought of this prank really needs work on their…," Sirius said, then looked around.

"Please. Come back to me my love," he heard, then felt something touch his shoulder. Jumping a bit, Sirius turned around to see Robyn standing there.

"Hey, did you hear something?" she asked, and Sirius nodded.

"Yeah. You mean I'm not the only one?" he asked, and she shook her head.

"No. Something weird is going on here," Robyn said, and Sirius nodded. "Figure that out by yourself Birdie?" he asked, then held his hands out. "Sorry. Sorry. Joking. But there is something weird going on here, I'm sure you agree to that right?"

"I'm sure it's nothing," Robyn said, and walked off.

"Hey, I thought you needed to see the nurse?" Sirius asked.

"I did. You've been standing there for awhile now," Robyn said, and headed towards her next class.

"What is going on here?" Sirius said, then headed for class.

The rest of the school day went pretty smoothly, except for Sirius, who still complained about hearing voices, while trying to figure out how to prank Snape.

"I think I'll skip dinner tonight. I'm not feeling that well," Sirius said, which shocked the rest of his friends.

"Padfoot not hungry? That's a first," Remus said, as James and Lily just laughed.

"Haha. Funny," Sirius said, then left for his dorm room.

"Please my love. Come to me," Sirius heard, and stopped.

"Not again…," he told himself.

"Talking to yourself again Sirius?" he heard, and turned around, seeing Robyn standing there, laughing a bit.

"You too Birdie?" Sirius asked, then sighed. "See ya. I'm going to bed," he said and started to walk off.

"Come back to me my love," he heard, then turned around, looking at Robyn, cheeks flushed a bit.

"What?" Robyn asked.

"Did you just say…" Sirius asked, then shook his head. "Can't be. I must be hearing things."

Robyn, who was confused, just shrugged and headed towards her dorm room. Little did they know that they were being watched by Remus, who was concerned about his friend.

"Hmm. I wonder…" he said to himself, then went back to the others.

Later on that night, Sirius was tossing and turning in his bed, finally waking up as if waking from a nightmare.

"Please my love. Come to me."

Sirius normally would have just gone back to sleep, but something dragged him out of bed, and slowly, he made his way towards the door.

"Please. Wait for me Princess," Sirius said, and walked out of the dorms. Remus, who was watching, nodded, then went to wake up James. "Come on Prongs. I need your help," Remus said, then shook the sleepy James, who mumbled as he picked up his glasses and followed. Outside, Lily came running up, surprised to see the boys outside their dorm.

"Guys, Robyn just got up and walked off," she said, and Remus nodded.

"I think I know what's going on. Remember that book they were fighting over?" Remus asked, and both Lily and James nodded, as all three of them started to follow Sirius. "Well, I did some research on it, and just so happens that the Princess and the Knight were real people," Remus said, as he, James and Lily continued to walk after Sirius, who was leading them somewhere.

"Wait. I get it. You're saying that both Robyn and Sirius are possessed right?" Lily said, and Remus nodded.

"Yep. The only thing we can do is just wait and let this play out," Remus said. Walking along, the three found themselves walking up the stairs to the Gryffindor tower, wondering what was driving their friend.

"I'm tired…" James said, as Lily pulled him along.

"Come on. We need to keep up," she said, as Remus hoped that he was making the right decision.

Outside, on the tower's top floor, Robyn stood, looking up at the starlit sky, holding her hands together as if praying.

"Princess," she heard, then slowly turned around. With a smile, Robyn walked into the arms of Sirius, who in this case, was the Princess's knight.

"My love. My father is planning on marrying me off to another. I can't stop him," she said, as Sirius touched her cheek.

"I know Princess. But I'm just a lowly knight. I'm not worthy of asking for the Princess's hand," Sirius said, neither of them knowing that there were three others on the roof also.

"But, I don't love this man. I love you. Please, let's run away. Far away from my father and the kingdom," Robyn said, putting her head on Sirius's shoulder.

"I can't do that Princess. You know they would only hunt us down," the possessed Sirius said, as he touched Robyn's face.

"My father will find us soon. Please sir knight. One last kiss then," Robyn said, wrapping her arms around Sirius's neck. "Hopefully, this won't be the last," she said, as she pressed her lips up against Sirius's.

Near the doorway to the stairs, both Lily and James were sniffling.

"How romantic!" Lily said, as James nodded.

"Since when do you like stuff like this Prongs?" Remus asked, then shrugged. "Let's see. The curse should be broken right about…"

"What the heck!?!?! What are you doing!?!?!" tThey heard Sirius yell out.

"Now," Remus said then shrugged.

"What am I doing!?!? What are you doing bringing me up to a place like this in the middle of the night, then kissing me like that!?!?!?" Robyn yelled out.

Sighing, Remus tried his best to calm the two down, and explained to them what was going on. After a few words from Remus, both Robyn and Sirius started to blush, then looked at each other before turning away.

"I guess this means that Padfoot has a girlfriend now," Remus said, as Sirius started to blush again.

"Hey!" he yelled out, as Lily giggled.

"I think they make a cute couple." she said, right before the three of them started running, with Sirius and Robyn running after them.
