Tales > He's Finally Snapped

Sirius Black and the other Marauders boarded the train on the last day of their sixth year at Hogwarts.

“I can’t wait to have some of my mothers homemade apple pie! Yum!" said Sirius’s best friend James Potter.

"Oh, I can’t wait to be back in my own bed," said Remus Lupin. Everyone was so excited to be going home, except for Sirius. Sirius was going to have to go home to his horrible family of pureblood freaks. That’s all they could talk about, purebloods, half-bloods, and mudbloods. They were also all from the worst house in Hogwarts, Slytherin.

While they were boarding the train Sirius said, " Well I can’t wait to come back here…"

The Marauders all agreed and apologized to Sirius. They knew how horribly his family treated him.

"Oh well, I might as well I might as well enjoy my last few hours of happiness by torturing Snivellius," he grinned evilly. So the boys went over to Severus Snape and annoyed and belittled him all the way home.

When everyone got off the train they were greeted by their parents with loads of hugs and kisses, but the Black family stood away from everyone else muttering words like, "mudbloods" and "dirty filthy muggles" under their breathes. Sirius saw them immediately and slowly walked over to them. He didn’t want to say goodbye to Hogwarts or his friends for a whole summer. His family greeted him with the normal," Oh yea, Hello, umm, son…" but when his brother Regulus got off the train they swarmed him with hugs and kisses and questions about school. They did this repetitively all the way back to # 12 Grimmauld Street.

When he and his family got home were greeted by their house elf Kreacher and Sirius went straight to his room. Nobody noticed he left because nobody cared about him, and he was tired of that. He could hear his parents talking to Regulus about how he got into Slytherin and how proud they were of him. Sirius even heard Regulus say, "Yes, Mother everyone in my house does agree with Voldemort’s decisions, unlike Sirius and those other bloody Gryffindors, always playing pranks on us wonderfully noble Slytherins."

That’s all Sirius needed to hear, he knew they all hated him and he put up with it for long enough but now it all had come down to that one little sentence. They agreed with the doings of the worst man in the Wizarding world, all they cared about was a person’s bloodline, and they did nothing but insult him. He couldn’t stand it any longer! Sirius opened up his bedroom window and summoned up his flying motorcycle. He had been so angry at everything that he hadn’t even bothered to unpack, so he just grabbed his belongings and flew to James’ house. When Sirius got there it was around 2 o’clock in the morning but he didn’t care. He rang on the Potters doorbell and luckily a sleepy looking James answered the door.

"Sirius?!" was the first thing out of his mouth.

"Yea, uh, sorry to wake you mate but I have no where else to go…" Sirius said, trying to explain his sudden arrival.

"What do you mean?" James looked worried. "Did you do something so stupid that you got kicked out of your house?!"

"No," Sirius said, " I ran away."

There was an awkward silence. James was just staring at him, with his mouth open.

"So, can I stay here for a little while or what?" Sirius said ruining the silence.

"Yeah sure," James said. "I wouldn’t throw my best friend out into the streets, we’ll tell my parents in the morning."

James to Sirius up to his bedroom and he pulled out a sleeping bag for Sirius and laid it on the ground.

"You’ll sleep here," he said. Sirius looked around, the walls were covered in quidittich posters and Gryffindor crests.

"So, you finally snapped, and ran away from the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black" James said. Sirius looked at him and just said, "Yep."

The rest of the night they stayed up, talking and planning pranks for their last year at Hogwarts.

"Do you think you’ll ever go out with Lily Evans?" Sirius asked.

James looked over to the picture Lily gave to him, and said, "I sure hope so."
