Ask the Marauders > March 22, 2005

From: Allison
Dear Marauders, If you were any Star Wars character who would it be? May the force be with all of you!

James: I wanna be Han!

Sirius: No fair! Why do you get the cool character?

Peter: What's wrong with Luke?

Sirius: He whines too much.

James: And liked his sister too much, too.

Peter: But he's a jedi, isn't that cool at all?

James & Sirius: *think*

James: I guess so. I'd still rather be Han. He's a smartalec. *grins*

Sirius: And he gets the girl.

Lily: You're both idiots.

James & Sirius: *pout*

Lily: As for my answer, if I'm constrained to the movies, then I'll pick Leia. Including the books, I'd pick Mara Jade. She's awesome.

Sirius: Hey, I didn't know you were counting the books!

James: I can keep Han then?

Sirius: No, but I'd serious consider Face Loran from the X-Wing Wraith Squadron books.

Lily: Then you and James could be Face and Ton Phannan. You two can be stupid enough together to be that pair.

James: ...I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.

Sirius: Heh, can we make Wormtail be Lieutenant Kettch, then?

Peter: No fair! I don't want to be a doll! Or a Ewok for that matter.

James: Then who do you want to be?

Peter: Well, since Han was taken and no one likes Luke much, I think I'll pick Wedge Antilles.

James & Sirius: *stare*

Peter: What? I think he's the one sub character that fights and doesn't get randomly killed off. And he got his own book series, sort of.

Remus: Peter does have a point. And don't even think about the usual jokes about that remark.

James: Then what character would you want to be, Moony?

Lily: I see him as either Yoda or Obi Wan.

James: I'd say Obi Wan. Moony's not a muppet, after all. *winks*

Remus: Thanks, Prongs. *rolls eyes* But I guess Obi Wan would be a good choice, since he's pretty reasonable a character. At least he is after everything that he has seen in his life. I can related to that somewhat.

Note: Wedge is actually one of Robyn's all-time favorite characters.

If you could be any creature for one day what would you be?

Sirius: Does Snape count?

Lily: First, why would you want to be Snape, and second, if you consider human beings creatures, then yes.

James: I think it would be fun to be a type of bird for a day. Maybe even a phoenix. Not only could I fly, but if I hurt myself, at least I could heal the wound with some tears. *grins*

Peter: I'd want to be a giraffe. Then I could reach everything I never could before.

Remus: I think it would be interesting to be a unicorn. Or some kind of wild horse.

Sirius: Other than being a dog? I'm assuming that we can't be something that we can already turn into as animagi. *grins* Hmmm, I guess I'd want to be an ant. Running around in all those neat tunnels and being able to lift 100 times my weight, or whatever the ratio is.

James: Just watch out for magnifying glasses.

Sirius: Oooh, that's harsh, Prongs.

From: Gemini
Lily, what have you done (in the past) to keep Sirius in line?

James: What hasn't she done would be a better question.

Sirius: She's never removed pieces of clothing.

Lily: Nor will I ever. *disgusted*

Sirius: *grins, as he was trying to disgust her*

Lily: *ignoring Sirius now* I've cast silencing charms on him, used other charms to have him bound and gagged, given him detention, scolded him, the list is endless. Oh, and one time I set his hair aflame.

Sirius: Didn't like that one much...

Lily: I've already apologized for that one. It was an accident, and you'd just made me so mad that it just *happened*.

James: That was the time that he made it all the way intot he girl's dorms, right?

Lily: Yes. *glares at Sirius*

Remus: I'm surprised you didn't do more than that, Lily.

Sirius: What can I say? I'm not easily deterred from a goal when that goal is so fair. *smiles charmingly at Lily*

James: *coughs* Ahem. That's my girlfriend you're alluding to, Padfoot.

Sirius: Actually, I meant the whole of the Gryffindor girls' dormitory, but Lily's quite the looker herself. *grins*

Lily: *rolls eyes*

What do you dudes think about anarchy?

Sirius: We try to cause it at every opportunity.

James: Well, at least within Hogwarts. We're not trying to overthow the Ministry or anything.

Peter: Though Fudge is an idiot.

Lily: That's true enough. I'm sure he'll get his eventually for what he's ignored all these years. Not that I like to wish anyone ill.

Remus: A little anarchy every once in a while is a healthy thing. Especially when the rules were created by people who lost sight of what's important.

Hey, this question is for Remus. If you had children, would all of them turn into werewolves?

James: Wow, I'd never really thought about that one, since Moony here's pretty adamant about not having kids.

Sirius: I still want my army of pranksters...

James: Not now, Padfoot. Let Moony answer his question!

Remus: Thanks, Prongs. It's not quite clear if lycanthropy is inherited, but I don't want to risk it. And even if it isn't, I don't want to have to keep my family or myself locked up to prevent more pain.

From: Moonifico
Hey, Remus, Lily? Why do you keep flirting??

Lily: With who? Each other? We're not flirting.

James: I think Moony knows better than to hit on Lily when I'm right here.

Sirius: Are you talking about how they constantly agree on various points about my sanity, etc?

Remus: Probably. And any person or werewolf would agree with Lily and me on those points.

Sirius: *sniffles* Nobody likes poor, hard-done-by Padfoot.

James: Oh stop that. You know you do insane things all the time and you enjoy it.

Sirius: *grins* Fair enough. You got me there, Prongs.

From: Iowan_witch
what would you do without any magic?

Sirius: Probably tie Snape up in order to color his hair fun things, most likely.

James: We wouldn't be going to Hogwarts, either.

Lily: Probably go to college and be a teacher, maybe for the lower grades.

Remus: I'd go to college as well, although I'd pick a different career path than Lily.

Peter: Didn't we answer this question already? Or something similar?

James: Meh, I can't remember. It's hard to remember when you've been doing this for nearly two years...

Sirius: Prongs, you're getting old. *snickers*

James: *rolls eyes*

Remus: Then we're all getting old.

Sirius: Shhhh! If you say it, it'll come true!

Lily: *sigh* Who gave him sugar today? He's being more insane than normal.

James: Don't look at me. I do know better...on occassion. *grins*

If you had to describe yourself as a color, which color would you choose? (Let's hear it, Snapsies...)

Sirius: PURPLE!

James: Why purple, of all things?

Sirius: Purple's a fruit.

James: *blinks* Oooooookay... I'd pick blue, because I like to fly so much in the sky. Wow, that sounds stupider when I say it out loud.

Peter: No stupider than Padfoot wanting to be purple because he likes grapes.

James: Then what would you be?

Peter: Um... As much as we all hate the Slytherins, I do like the color green. It reminds me of the greenhouses for Herbology, the one subject I actually like.

Remus: I think gray describes me the best. Gray is often used to represent something that's complex, and that's one way to describe me.

Snape: I suppose that this is the place where I say that I like black, like the darkness in my soul. Well, if you must know, I like black because it can be all colors and the utter absence of colors. Very versatile.

If you could be a superhero or a villain, who would you be? And Snape has to answer also!!!

Snape: This had better be the last one of these inane questions I must answer. I have an essay to write. As I have stated before, I do not like to read Muggle writings for entertainment. If research requires it, then I will do so, but I do not do it for pleasure. So I can't answer your question.

Sirius: Party pooper.

Snape: *glares at Sirius then leaves*

James: How about the Flash? Then you could run really, really fast!

Lily: The Green Lantern was an interesting superhero. I like the normal guy-turned superhero type of character. Makes it more interesting when they have to cope with new powers, etc.

Sirius: Wow, Prongs, I'm surprised you didn't say Superman so you could fly without a broom.

James: I'd run so fast as the Flash that flying wouldn't matter.

Sirius: I guess that's true.

Peter: What about you, Padfoot?

Sirius: Not sure. How about Batman? He gets all those neat toys to play with.

Lily: That works. You're enough of a smartass to be Batman, too.

Sirius: I'll take that as a compliment.

Remus: I kind of like Dr. Strange. A levitation cloak would be useful, as well as retaining magic-using abilities and able to read minds. Not only that, he has a great library.

Sirius: Dr. Strange, huh? I'm not touching that one.

James: Since you're more strange than Moony most of the time, and it's usually on purpose.

Sirius: *grins* I like to stand out.

Peter: I liked that martian guy. I can't remember his name, though. It's neat how he can phase through walls and things. And turn into other objects.

From: Werewolf Syraya
Remus, what would you do if chocolate dissapeared from this entire universe?

Remus: I'd probably look towards other sweets to make up for chocolate. It's just that chocolate has wonderful mood-altering properties which helps at times.

James: A world without chocolate would drive Moony nuts. *grins* It's one of his few weaknesses. Mwahahaha!

Sirius: Ah yes, if chocolate is involved, we can usually get him to agree to some of our more insane stunts. But not without the usual amount of protests about detention.

From: Me, Myself, and I
Everyone-> What is the one thing that annoys you the most (and Snape is NOT an option)?

Sirius: He's not? Man, that's no fair. *thinks* I guess authority annoys me the most.

James: That'a obvious. Though Dumbledore doesn't annoy you, does he?

Sirius: No, I like Dumbledore. I think he enjoys a good joke now and again. *grins*

Remus: Last time I checked, your antics amused him. I think that the one thing that annoys me the most is irrational fear.

Lily: Prejudice annoys me the most. Of course the Wizarding world is just as full of it as the Muggle world.

Peter: Can I say homework? I guess when professors expect things that are impossible from their students.

From: Smelly Socks
What is your favorite type of cheese?

Peter: Cheese! Yum! I love all kinds of cheese! Cheddar, brie, gorganzola, you name it!

Sirius: I like macaroni and cheese. I'm not too picky with my cheese.

James: Wow, Wormtail, you're certainly the cheese connoisseur.

Peter: What can I say, I like my cheese.

Remus: *smiles* As well as most other foods. As far as cheese goes, I'm not all that
picky.

Okay, so I know that you guys know all about anime conventions and cosplaying, thanks to Robyn and Angie, but how do you guys feel about HP cosplaying? At anime cons? ((Yes, I've seen HP cosplayers at my Sakura-Con... and they participated in the Cosplay, too))

James: It's kind of odd seeing people dressing up as you or other people that you know, but then again, it's kind of flattering.

Sirius: Robyn's only seen Harry and mini-Malfoy cosplayers specifically, but there's always a handful of girls running around in Hogwarts uniforms. You don't know, maybe they ARE Hogwarts students that are on a field trip to study crazy American muggles that love anime? *evil grin*

Lily: Yes, the likelihood of that is about as small as the possibility of you saying something sane.

Sirius: No love, I feel no love.

Peter: That was actually pretty sane, but even Padfoot has to say something normal from time to time. *smiles*

James: Mini-Malfoy?

Sirius: Malfoy's kid. What's his name again? Draco? Meh, more astronomical names. Heh.

Remus: I'm wondering why anyone would go to an anime convention and dress up as characters from something that's not anime.

Do you have a fave Disney Character? (Mine is Mulan-she kicks butt!) By the way Sirius IS god you lot, there is no point fighting the truth!!

Lily: I like Mulan. I don't have a favorite specifically, though.

James: I don't really have a favorite Disney character seeing how I've never watched any Disney films.

Sirius: That would make it kind of hard, wouldn't it?

Lily: No, you watched Treasure Planet with Robyn, remember that?

Sirius: That's a Disney movie?

Lily: I think so. It was a fun movie.

James: Then the guy from that movie. That's my choice since it's the only one that I can remember.

Sirius: I'm with Prongs here. Sorry, Maestro, but we haven't seen too many Disney films.

Remus: Angie hardly ever watches Disney movies, so I haven't seen many. I think over the past few years I've seen Mulan and Beauty and the Beast.
